Pillow Love!

I have recently developed a love for throw pillows! I don't however, have a love for the price they fetch in retail stores. I mean seriously? Why pay so much when they are so easy to make at home and for a much more reasonable price! I am NOT a seamstress by any means, but I do know sewing basics and how to sew a straight line. That's really all there is to it! Pick your favorite fabric, measure the size you want your pillow to be (allow an extra inch or two for the seam), sew the right sides together ( the pillow will then be inside out) .Once you have three sides sewn together, leave one open for stuffing. Turn the pillow right side out, stuff to the desired fluffiness and sew remaining seam closed. That's it! Easy right?! Here is what I made, ready for the boutique!

How to transform a coffee table using chalk/mineral paint

Welcome!
This is my first official post on my new blog! Yaaaay!
Thank you for stopping by. Please take a look around.
This is my latest piece. I'm quite proud of how it turned out.
It only took me 6 months to decide what to do with it! It was such an ugly duckling
to begin with as you can see...

Complete with 80's gold leaf and floral appliques!! YUCK! So I decided to strip it down to the original wood  and start fresh. After it was stripped and sanded, I painted the top in one of my FAVORITE shades "Lincoln's Hat" by American Paint Company. I painted the lower half in "Home Plate" also by APC. I love their paint, It's all natural chalk and clay, easy to use, easy to clean and smells great! I then did some light distressing used dark wax and sealed the top with APC top coat. The open areas on the top had some very dated smoky glass inserts. That was one of the biggest challenges for me, to decide what to do with those.
I'm a bid of a decoupage freak. I just love the possibilities. Soooo, I thought why can't I decoupage some old sheet music on to them? Wow, what a difference! What do you think?
